Project Details
The country is facing acute shortage of electricity. Therefore, the Government of Bangladesh has chalked out short term, midterm and long-term plans to pprox its objective of providing electricity to all by 2021. As part of the plans, development of renewable energy resources has been taken into due consideration. In this aspect, a Renewable Energy Policy has been inacted with the target to produce 10% by 2020 from renewable energy sources. This means that at least 2000 MW Power shall be generated from renewable sources by 2020.
RPCL has decided to implement a 100 MW Solar PV Power Plant at Madarganj, Jamalpur. Bangladesh has no previous experience of implementation of such big project. BPDB and some other private companies are in process of implementing similar project. RPCL need to assess the potentiality of the site for implementing mega solar power project and implement the project selecting turn key EPC Contractor within shortage possible time.
