In order to contribute toward meeting the growing electricity demand in Bangladesh, the Barisal Electric Power Company Limited (or the “BEPCL”) has taken an initiative for developing a coal-fired power plant. The BEPCL is planning to install a 350 MW (1 x 350 MW) power generation unit in Taltoli Upazila under Barguna District of Bangladesh. BEPCL has engaged EQMS to conduct the IEE and EIA study for site clearance and environmental clearance from the Department of Environment (DoE). EQMS also engaged for Resettlement Action Plan preparation and its implementation and monitoring.
