115 MW HFO fired power plant at Thakurgaon

Project Details

Energypac Power Ventures Limited (EPVL) is proposing to set up 115 MW (net) HFO-fired power plant, which is proposed to be constructed on BOO basis in Thakurgaon, Bangladesh. The project company, EPV Thakurgaon Limited for execution of this project, is a SPV of EPVL. The project received Lol from BPDB on 15 May 2017 and PPA was signed between BPDB and EPVTL on 3 May 2018.

The project will be based on HFO as fuel for power generation. Fuel requirement for the project will be 300 MT/day (average) and 550 MT/day (maximum). HFO will be sourced from Singapore or from Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC). HFO will be stored within the site and capacity of the storage tank 2 x 5000 KL.

The total land requirement for the project is 9 acres. The plant will consist of Six internal combustion engines, six waste heat recovery boilers, Oil fired boiler, steam turbine. The key components are as follows: internal combustion engines (6 nos.), engine hall, radiator (6 sets), waste heat recovery boilers (6 nos.), oil fired boiler (1 no.), steam turbine (1 no.), turbine hall, turbine cooling towers, exhaust gas silencers (6 nos.), lube oil separator units (6 nos.), oil mist eliminators (6 nos.), tank farm (2 HFO storage tanks of 5000 KL capacity each, 2 HFO settling tanks of 750 KL capacity each, 2 HFO service tank of 500 KL capacity each and 1 LFO service tank of 250 KL capacity), fuel treatment plant, water treatment plant, fire water tank, substation area, store and admin building.
